NEW Autumn 2009 Tom Ford Campaign

Tom Ford seems to ooze it; sex appeal that is. In fact, he does so to such an extent that the advert for the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver scent features not a model but the designer himself. When it comes to advertising the Tom Ford Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 collection, however, it's a different story. The designer is out, replaced instead with the svelte figure of Anna Jagodzinska and the sculpted derriere of Jon Kortajarena. The pictures were shot by yours truely, Mr. Tom Ford himself.

Elijah Wood and Shirley Manson As New Faces Of Oliver Peoples!

After the beautiful job she did for the current season, Oliver Peoples were excited to reunite with stellar photographer AUTUMN DE WILDE. Providing personality and a face to the frames is Scottish singing beauty SHIRLEY MANSON and Renaissance talent, ELIJAH WOOD. Easily recognized for his roles in Lord of the Rings, Sin City, Everything is Illuminated and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Elijah’s debonair personal style was an ideal fit for the campaign. Despite such success in his acting career, Elijah is also dedicated to photography and music, including the creation of his own record label called Simian Records in 2005.
Stunning, scarlet-haired Shirley is best known as the lead vocalist of the Grammy-nominated alternative band, Garbage. In the last year, she assumed a role in the television series Terminator: the Sarah Conner Chronicles. Her edgy and dramatic sense of style lent a modern, mischievous air to the otherwise serious scenes of sunnies and spectacles. Orchestrating the imagery is internationally renowned photographer and director Autumn De Wilde. Her work has been featured on the pages of Vanity Fair, W, Elle, Rolling Stone, and V Magazine, and her most recent subjects include artists such as Beck, The White Stripes and celebrated fashion designers, Rodarte.

Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2010 Eyewear Line

Stella McCartney will launch a new eyewear line for the Spring Summer 2010 Collection. The designer is now collaborating with Luxottica Group which also licenses eyewear for luxury brands such as Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Prada.

McCartney said her goal is to fuse timeless pieces with “edgier, younger, eye-catching styles….For me, it was important to make lightweight, comfortable sunglasses that are not a chore or cumbersome to wear. There are pieces to fall back on and wear any time of year in any place and pieces that will help you draw attention to yourself.”

McCartney designed eyewear when she was creative director at ChloƩ. We remember the success that had the pair of Chloe sunglasses featuring the rhinestone heart. After launching her own label, she produced eyewear in a license with Safilo Group for five years before pairing up with Luxottica.
Keep an eye out for them in store next spring!
